Swimming sectionals taking place today

Local swimmers will compete for the right to advance to next weekend's state meet at today's sectionals.

Sheboygan North, Sheboygan South and the co-op team comprised of athletes from Kohler, Lutheran, Christian and Sheboygan Falls will compete at the Division 1 Cedarburg Sectional starting at noon, and swimmers from Plymouth, the co-op team of Kiel and Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah and Chilton will compete at the D2 sectional at Plymouth at 2 p.m.

The winners of each event at every sectional qualify automatically for State, which will take place at the UW-Natatorium. Also qualifying are the next 18 (D1) or 12 (D2) fastest in each event .
